Allegory

A story in prose, verse or dramatic form that can be understood on two levels. The surface level is the explicit or more obvious meaning. Below the surface lies a more implicit and obscure level of meaning. Allegory can be used to entertain at one level and carry a moral at the hidden level, or may be used to critique in a veiled way (The Learning Company UK)
